A new and FREE way to track your DeviantArt notifications and messages in (almost) real time.
Why you should use it?
Because the official DeviantArt apps are so slow and laggy.
Notify is an unofficial extension that allows you to track all your notifications and messages in real time.
DeviantArt sends a specific API request to the site every N minutes (which can be adjusted in the options), and aggregates the notification and message counts based on the response.
So you can keep track of the notifications in your stream.
The total amount is displayed on the icon, and when clicked it opens a menu that looks similar to the site's top bar with the chat, notifications and watch icons, all of which can be clicked to go to their respective pages.
How does it work?
When you open Notify, you will be prompted to enter your DeviantArt username and password.
You can then browse the notifications and messages you receive, and the text will be displayed on the item.
Clicking on the item will then bring up a menu to allow you to read or mark the message as read.
If you click on the Mark All as Read button, it will change the count in the notification to a read icon and sound.
You can also mark a message as unread or read, and mark a message as read or unread by going to the main menu of the extension.
In the main menu, you can also mark all notifications as read and reset the read state.
The notification will only show up on the icon and does not appear in your notifications stream.
